Services
The Arc Nature Coast offers comprehensive services in order to support those we serve in achieving independence.
Residential
Services depend upon the needs of the individual. They may be served in one of our residential placements, where they live in a small group home environment of 5 or 6 beds or in their own private residence with personal supports and a supported living coach. The goal of each residential service is to support our customers in becoming as independent as possible in their home and community life. They are supported in their household management, budgeting, community interaction skills.
Skill Training
In addition to a residential program our customers have the need for a meaningful day activity, or skills development services. We support our customers by providing these services through our life skills development program, which focuses on personal skills development, social skills development and activities of daily living all leading toward independence in the community.
Employment
Our program also provides a variety of work related sites (enclaves) to support our customers in earning a wage on their way to competitive employment. Our sites include janitorial, production, packaging, and assembly in the light industry and restaurant arena. Small groups of 5-10 workers go out to seven different locations on a daily basis. We enjoy an excellent working relationship with local business in our area (including Publix, Wal-Mart, Accuform, Micro-Matic, Barrette Outdoor Living, Mettler, Carrabba's and more) while our customers enjoy their jobs. For those who are ready for competitive employment, we work with vocational rehabilitation to successfully place them with an employer that is consistent with their needs, interests and abilities. We enjoy an above average successful job placement rate.
Transportation
In order for our customers to be able to benefit from these services we provide transportation to and from our facility and community based programs.
